Engine oil and filter
Replacement

Before oil discharge, check the engine for oil leak. At any found leak signs, before continuation of works remove the cause of leak.
Turn off a drain stopper and merge oil.
|
|
After oil discharge, you will wipe dry a drain stopper. Twirl a drain stopper and tighten it according to the moment. Inhaling moment: drain stopper of engine oil (a): 50 N • m (5.0 kg-m).

Turn off an oil filter, using a key for oil filters (the special tool). Special tool: (A) 09915 - 47330 (for the G16 and J20 engine).

Before installation of a new oil filter oil a sealing ring. For this purpose use engine oil. |
|
|
Twist the new filter by hand till the moment until the sealing ring concerns a landing surface.
|
Tighten the filter on 3/4 turns from the moment of a contact with a landing surface, using a key for oil filters. Inhaling moment: oil filter (b): 14 N • m (1.4 kg-m) (standard).

Correctly to tighten an oil filter, it is necessary to sustain precisely a position at which there is the first contact of a sealing ring to a landing surface. |
Fill in oil to the maximum level (to the mark FULL in the probe).
The jellied opening is from above on a valvate cover.
It is recommended to use engine oil of grades of SG, SH, SJ or SL.
Choose suitable viscosity according to the chart of characteristics of viscosity of engine oils [A].

Capacity of engine oil is precisely determined. Nevertheless, keep in mind that the actual amount of the oil necessary for replacement can differ slightly from tabular data, depending on various conditions (temperature, viscosity, etc.) |
Check an oil filter and a drain stopper for leaks.
Start the engine and let's it work about three minutes. Muffle and wait 5 minutes before check of level of oil. Add oil if necessary to the mark "FULL" in the probe.

The steps 1 - 11 described above have to be executed at the idle engine. For performance of a step 12 be convinced that there is a sufficient ventilation while the engine works. |
